जीवन में कठिनाइयां आती रहती हैं. पर जो लोग उन कठिनाइयों को पार कर अपनी मंज़िल ढूंढ लेते हैं वहीं विजेता कहलाते हैं. रोहिम मोमिन की कहानी भी कुछ ऐसी है. रोहिम 2017 में अबु धाबी में हुई वर्ल्ड स्किल प्रतियोगिता में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व कर चुके हैं. 59 देशों के प्रतियोगियों के बीच रोहिम ने 5वां स्थान हासिल किया. पर यहां तक पंहुचने के लिए कई मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ा. पश्चिम बंगाल के मालदा के रहने वाले रोहिम एक बेहद गरीब परिवार में पले-बढ़े. पिता की मौत के बाद रोहिम के कंधों पर परिवार की ज़िम्मेदारियां आ गई. बेहतर मौक़ों की तलाश में अपने गांव से दिल्ली आ गए और राजधानी आकर निर्माण कार्य करने वाले श्रमिकों की जमात का हिस्सा बन गए. रोहिम अपने परिवार की माली हालत को बेहतर करना चाहते थे और अपनी तीन छोटी बहनों का भविष्य सुरक्षित करना चाहते थे. इस चाहत ने उनके अंदर प्रेरणा भरी और वह शारीरिक श्रम के अलावा दूसरे मौक़ों और कामों में भी हाथ आज़माने लगे. इस दौरान रोहिम ने तय किया कि वह व्यवस्थित प्रशिक्षण के माध्यम से अपनी क्षमताओं को विकसित करेंगे और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगे. रोहिम ने अपनी इस चाहत को हक़ीकत में तब्दील कर दिखाया.

लड़की है! क्या कर लेगी? अपनी लिमिट में रहा करो! Civil service crack करना तुम्हारे बस की बात नहीं! ये कुछ ऐसे ताने हैं जो लड़कियों को अक्सर सुनने पड़ते हैं जब वो कोई बड़ा सपना देखती हैं. कुछ ऐसे ही ताने रोशनी यादव को सुनने को मिले जब उन्हें ये निर्णय लिया कि वो Civil service की तैयारी करेगीं. पर रोशनी यादव ने हर ताने और चुनौती का सामना करके अपने लिए एक अलग पहचान बनाई. एक lower middle class family में पली-बढ़ी, रोशनी आज एक आत्मनिर्भर Deputy Collector हैं. अपने इस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने के लिए रोशनी की कई चुनौतियां सामना करना पड़ा, पर उस दौरान उन्होनें हिम्मत नहीं हारी और खुद पर भरोसा कर हर मुश्किल को पार किया.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मैनपुरी ज़िले की रहने वाली अपूर्वा यादव ने अपनी पढाई अलग-अलग शहरों में रहकर की| लड़की होने की वजह से उन पर सामाजिक प्रतिबंध लगाने की पूरी कोशिश की गई, पर ऐसे माहौल में रहते हुए भी अपूर्वा ने Goverment Officer बनने का सपना देखा और UPSC समेत PCS की तैयारी करने लगी| Goverment Service का Exam देते समय उन्हें कई बार Failure का सामना करना पड़ा और वो लगातार 4 बार Fail हुई, पर उन्होंने Give Up नहीं किया और लगातार Hard Work करती रहीं| उनका यही focus उन्हें Success के दरवाज़े तक लेकर आया और UPPCS Exam 2016 में उन्होंने 13 वीं Rank हासिल की| आज अपूर्वा SDM के तौर पर तैनात हैं और दूसरी लड़कियों को भी आगे बढ़ने की प्रेरणा दे रही हैं|

In this talk, Deane de Menezes- founder of the social initiative Red is the New Green explains about the stigma with respect to menstruation which is still prevalent and why it should be more about liberation. Deane is the founder of Red is the new Green - a social enterprise which aims to reduce the social stigma and economic inequality attached to menstruation by using a sustainable approach. Deane and her team have experience over three years working extensively in menstrual hygiene management and women's health.The project works towards making the world more period friendly by conducting menstrual awareness sessions, installing sanitary napkin vending machines and looking for sustainable menstrual waste management solutions. Since its inception, the project has impacted the lives of over 20,000 individuals. Deane was invited a a key note speaker on menstrual waste management for Swacchthon held in Patna, Bihar organised by the Ministry of drinking water and sanitation. Red is the new Green has worked with the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as part of the the Swacch Bharat Campaign to train peolple in their unique method of menstrual hygiene management as menstrual hygiene experts. She is also the Queen's Young Leader 2018 and was felicitated by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her work done in the menstrual hygiene space. She was selected to represent India from over thousands of applicants in the UK as part of the last batch of this prestigious program.
